What are the film
submission requirements?
The
Submission shall consist of:
One of
the following as a directing sample:
-
a "short" film or
video which has a beginning, middle and end in a
broad sense
-
a film or video that
is five minutes of a longer piece of work, provided
that the five minutes is edited into a stand-alone
"short" or "trailer" ("Short")
The
Submission may be in any genre (other than pornographic) and
must be in Urdu, Hindi or English or subtitled in English.
You must be the director of the Submission, though it may be
edited by someone else. You must own and control all rights
to the Submission to the extent required under the Submitted
Materials Release in the Application. Submissions may not
contain nudity, excessive profanity, extensive use of
obscene language or gestures or any depiction of real or
simulated sexual acts, extensive violence or any actual
illegal acts or written descriptions thereof. Submissions
should not contain references to actual people and events,
other than references to your personal history in the Intro
Video. Submissions may not contain any derogatory references
to Producer, BBTV, or any affiliated entity or person
thereof or any announced promotional partners.

What are the size
format requirements to upload a film?
Files cannot
be larger than 100 MB and minimum (Dimension) width and
height should be 320x240 pixels. File extension must either
be .avi or .flv, .mov, .mpg, .mpeg and .wmv
4
What is my
Participants Unique ID number?
If you upload
your film on the internet, this number will be located near
the bottom of your online application. You will need to note
this on the application in addition to where it appears. You
should also keep a personal record of this number.
4
When will my film
appear on the site?
Your film
must go through the production offices of BBTV. Once the
producers have approved, your film will appear on the site
within approximately 3 weeks of when your application was
received.
4
What are the
parameters for site approval?
Not all films
submitted to the site will be added to the site. They are
subject to the producers' approval.
4
If my film doesn't
make it on the site, does that mean I am out of the
competition?
No. It just
means it wasn't suitable for the website. Please mail us a
hard copy of your films at the addresses provided.
4
Why the deadline
extension?
Our deadline
extended due to a change in the production schedule. For
those of you who have already submitted, we are in the
process of reviewing your films. For those of you who are
just finding out about the show, you still have time!!
4
I’ve uploaded my
movie but it’s not on the site?
Sometimes the
format or encoding you’ve provided isn’t compatible. It
takes time to properly encode all of the uploads before they
go live on the site. As long as you send an application and
a DVD copy of your film, you will be considered for the
show. Meanwhile, the encoding issues are being managed so
every movie makes it to the site.
4
My movie was on the
site and now it’s gone.
There is a
moderator monitoring the films for excessive violence, foul
language, and sexual content. If your movie contains such
content it will be removed. Again, as long as you send an
application and a DVD copy of your film, it will be
considered for the show regardless of the content.
4
Why do I have to send
a DVD copy of my movie if I uploaded to the website?
Computers and
the Internet are amazing, but sometimes they crash. We want
to be sure we have a back up of your movie.
4
Some movies on the
site are longer than 5 minutes.
Unfortunately, some sneak by. We ask that you please do
stick to the time limit.
4
If I upload my movie
or trailer am I being considered for the show?
You are not considered for
the show unless we receive a completed application and DVD
copy of your film or trailer.
4
Can you only apply by
uploading?
If you don’t
have the capability to upload a film, you may still apply by
mailing an application and DVD. We will upload it for you.
If you do not want your movie on the website, please include
a note letting us know.
The website
is a bonus to the show. It is a way for filmmakers to get to
know each other and have others see your work. If your movie
isn’t on the site it doesn’t mean it won’t be considered for
the show. As long as you send an application and DVD your
movie will be considered for the show.
4
Can I upload more
than one movie?
Yes. The
website is a forum for filmmakers to show their work.
Uploading additional movies will not increase your chances
and only the movie accompanied by an application will be
watched by casting staff.

objectionable and the producers will look into it.

What if I find a blog
or message board post objectionable?
Click on
"report inappropriate content" and the moderators will be
notified and the blog or post will be looked into.
4
Why can't I rate a
film more than once?
To maintain
fairness, we only allow one vote per film per registered
member.
4
What are tags?
Tags are
keywords that describe videos. The larger the tag appears in
the list, the more videos use that tag. For example, a film
that features golf players may be tagged "golf players" to
make it easier to find for golf fans.
4
Can I change my
username?
No. Your
username is your permanent identity in BBTV community.
4
It keeps asking me to
log in, what should I do?
Make sure you
have cookies enabled in your browser preferences. If you
have cookies disabled, our system won't know that you've
been at the site before, and will ask for your log in again.
4
How do you get the
videos to play?
All of the
videos on the website are streamed through the Flash player,
so you need to have the latest version of Macromedia Flash
installed on your computer. Get the latest version of Flash
here.
4
Why do videos keep
stopping while I'm watching?
If a video
doesn't play continuously, it may be due to your connection
speed. You'll need a broadband connection with at least
500+Kbps for the best viewing experience.
